Who plans for a divorce or separation? Your life and your children’s lives are not where you hoped they would be… and it’s not getting any better. Your children are not seeing the loving partnership you hoped for… you spend more energy on your failing relationship than you do on your children – and they are not getting your best.

How do you tell your children, your family and friends? Is communicating with your soon-to-be ex difficult, painful, or nearly impossible? You wonder where you will live and how your lifestyle may change.

Are you concerned that your attorney fees will deplete your children’s college fund? Do you worry about how all of this will impact your children’s healthy development?

So many overwhelming feelings permeate your life and that of your children: anxious, embarrassed, resentful, depressed, confused, helpless, hopeless, sad, angry, shamed, lonely, fearful or guilty.

Together, we embrace the many feelings of divorce, using effective strategies and often some necessary humor to support your natural resilience so you and your children emerge empowered to begin your next chapter… with a new-found confidence.

How does divorce affect the children?

Research has shown that the most important factor affecting children’s adjustment to divorce is the quality of the relationship between the parents during the separation. The decisions you make now are critical to how well you and your children will adjust to the upcoming changes.

How are you doing?

It is not unusual to experience a prolonged feeling of anxiety and depression. Feelings of being overwhelmed and unable to gain control of your life are rampant resulting from the often-total upheaval to the normal day-to-day routine.

Being upset through the divorce process can affect eating, sleeping, concentrating at work, school or home. Self-medication may be seen in an increased use of drugs or alcohol. Even physical ailments such as headaches, stomach aches, and pains are exacerbated during the divorce period.
I can help you with the many issues you will face including:

  • Single parenting
  • Time management
  • Socializing and dating
  • Relationships with “his” or “her” family
  • Co-parenting with your ex
  • Mediating conflicts with your ex
  • A customized parenting plan that supports your children’s healthy development

I help you take care of yourself, navigate the process and be child-focused. I support you preserving your assets, so you put YOUR kids through college… not your attorney’s kids.

I partner with you to ensure that your actions demonstrate that you “love your kids more than you hate your ex.” Your children get one childhood, and you have the power to make it the very best it can be.

A Successful Divorce Is Possible!

Successful divorce involves the process of emotional separation, reaching a new center of balance as a single person, caring for your children, and improving the co-parenting relationship with your child’s other parent.

Your future path can provide a healthy child-focused transition for you and your family that enhances each parent’s strengths and helps your children get the very best of what you each have to offer them.
